Repeat outbreak of cholera in Mpulungu, Zambia

Health authorities have reported a recurrence of cholera in the same area of a previous outbreak. At least 5 cases from Muzabwera village have been reported. This recurrence of a cholera outbreak in Mpulungu is due to lack of a safe water. People are obtaining water from contaminated shallow wells.

Travellers to this area should be aware of the risk of exposure to cholera and take all necessary precautions to avoid consuming unsafe food and water.
