Occupied Palestine, the Gaza Strip and the West Bank were hit by the worst winter storm in decades. Many areas are cut off by heavy snowfall, leaving hundreds of thousands of homes without power. At least 10,000 people have been evacuated from floods in large areas of northern Gaza, from what the United Nations called “a disaster area”, after four days of torrential rainfall.
