Suicide Bombings in Kabul and Kandahar, Afghanistan

Two suicide bombings by the Islamic State group occurred in central Kabul today (30 April 2018), killing at least 25 people and wounding at least 45. The bombings occurred in the central Shash Darak area, an area of embassies, foreign offices, NATO headquarters, and the Afghan intelligence service. The second bombing occurred 20 minutes later by someone dressed as a journalist and was meant to target people rushing to the scene of the attack to help victims.

Several hours later, a suicide bomber attacked military forces in the Damon district of Kandahar province, killing 11 children.
