Opposition newspaper attacked in Sri Lanka; 6 injured

An unidentified gang attacked the office of the Tamil-language newspaper, Uthayan, injuring 6 people. The attack on the newspaper office was the fourth attack on the media since January in Sri Lanka’s former war zone in the north of the country. Travellers should exercise caution if travelling in the former war zones of Sri Lanka and avoid places like markets, government buildings, offices of politically active organizations, etc., that might be terrorist targets.
