Dengue fever outbreak in Merida, Mexico, is major public health problem

Health officials have recorded a total of 2,106 cases of dengue fever, including 692 cases of dengue haemorrhagic fever which is a serious complication of the infection. Merida has the most cases, 1,368, with over 100 cases reported each week.
