Armed attack at hotel in Mogadishu, Somalia

At least 12 people have been killed at the Sahafi Hotel in Modadishu in an attack that involved two car bombs and gunmen storming the hotel.

Most countries advise citizens to avoid all travel to Somalia. Security in this country has improved, however, militant groups still attack Mogadishu regularly. The Sahafi Hotel is popular with Somali members of parliament.
