Curfew in Midsayap, Philippines, after BIFF terrorist attacks

Authorities have been implementing a curfew in 17 of the 57 barangays in Midsayap for 3 days now to counter the lawless plundering of farming enclaves by the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) who held more than 20 people hostage and beheaded a farmer. More than 4,000 villagers have been displaced last week due to BIFF violence. Travellers are advised to avoid all travel to North Cotabato and most parts of Mindanao Island due to lack of personal security and frequent terrorist attacks.
