Tropical Storm KYARR en route to Oman and India

Tropical storm KYARR is expected to reach Oman in the next 5 days. It is currently affecting parts of India with winds estimated at 90 km/hr. Storm warnings have been posted for Panaji, Al Ashkhirah in Oman as well as the states of Maharashtra, Goa, Mangalore, Karnataka, and Konkan.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for the west coast of India as the cyclonic storm KYARR forms in the Arabian Sea. The severe weather warning is in effect from 25 October to 30 October. Heavy downpours and flash flooding may occur.

Travellers in the path of this storm should be cautious and consult local meteorological and emergency reports wherever available through local media (TV, radio, etc.)
