Malaria Is a Concern in City of Maputo, Mozambique

Health authorities have expressed concern due to the rising trend of malaria-related deaths in Maputo. So far, 25 people died from malaria in the first three months of this year. The total number of people infected with malaria in this time period is 11,277.

All travellers to any region where malaria transmission is occurring can reduce their risk of exposure by taking all necessary precautions to avoid mosquito bites. Anti-malaria medication is recommended.
