Serious malaria risk in Angola

During the first 3 months of this year, there were 188.000 reported cases of malaria with 400 deaths in the capital city Luanda. In the municipality of Cacuaco, about 1 hour from the capital, 27 children died from malaria in just a few days.

Any traveller to any region where malaria transmission is occurring can reduce their risk of exposure by taking all necessary precautions to avoid mosquito bites. Anti-malaria medication is recommended.
