COVID-19 Precautionary Measures in Cyprus (15 November Update)

Can a resident enter the country?

  • Yes

  • Citizens and residents are allowed to enter from A, B, and C-list countries.

Can a foreigner enter the country?

  • No with exceptions

  • The Cyprus government has divided countries into three categories (category A, B, and C). Different restrictions apply to travellers depending on the category of their country of origin. The list of countries and their categories is available here.

  • Foreign travellers are allowed to enter if arriving from A or B-list countries, including Australia, Canada, China, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Iceland, Ireland, Japan, South Korea, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Rwanda, San Marino, Serbia, Sweden, Thailand, United Kingdom, Uruguay, or Vatican City.

  • Foreign nationals cannot enter Cyprus from a C-list country unless they are residents of Cyprus.

Test certificate required?

  • Yes

  • Travellers from B and C list countries will need to provide a negative COVID-19 test certificate issued no more than 72 hours before arrival. The list of countries and their categories can be found in this link: here.

Test on arrival?

  • Yes

  • Travellers coming from the B and C-list countries must undergo a PCR test upon arrival.

Is quarantine required on arrival?

  • Yes

  • Travellers from B list countries may be quarantined until the result from the PCR test taken on arrival is received. The list of A and B countries can be found in this link.

  • Travellers coming from C-list countries quarantine for 14 days. If the test result is positive, this quarantine will take place in a designated facility. If the test result is negative, the 14-day quarantine can take place at home. Note that only Cyprus citizens and residents may enter from a C-list country.

  • Airports are open. Cyprus has resumed commercial flight operations to some countries under certain conditions.

Curfew restrictions

  • A nationwide curfew has imposed between 23:00 and 5:00 hours until 30 November.

  • Authorities has imposed a curfew in Limassol and Paphos Districts between 20:00 and 05:00 until 30 November.

Social distancing restrictions

  • Minimal

  • A maximum of 10 people can gather in one place.

  • All schools and educational facilities are open.

  • Certain shops and pharmacies are open to only vulnerable populations between 08:00 and 09:00.

Internal travel restrictions

  • Minimal

  • All movement restrictions have been lifted.

Non-essential shops open?

  • No

  • Non-essential businesses are closed until 30 November.

Accommodations open?

  • No

  • Hotels and accommodations are closed until 30 November.

Restaurants open?

  • Yes with exceptions

  • Restaurants and cafes are allowed to resume services while complying with specific precautionary guidelines.

  • All catering services in Limassol and Paphos must close by 22:30. Only delivery services can continue after 22:30.

  • A maximum of 75 persons for indoor spaces and 150 persons for outdoor spaces are allowed to be served in catering establishments.

  • A maximum of six people can be seated at one table.

  • Resturents are closed in Paphos and Limassol until 30 November.

  • Places of worship are limited to 75 people.

Events are allowed?

  • Yes with exceptions

  • In Paphos and Limassol, all sports and social activities for children under 18 are suspended until at least 30 November.

Masks required in public?

  • Yes

  • Wearing a mask is compulsory in public places.

  • In Northern Cyprus, activity at casinos, playgrounds, and indoor events such as weddings and sports tournaments are suspended.
