詳細Dengue fever cases increase four times the number last year in Malaysia
From January 2014 until the end of February, a total of 18,047 dengue fever cases and 36 deaths have been reported nationwide. This number represents a 400 percent increase compared to the same time period last year.
Many cases of dengue fever are not reported. Counting and reporting cases may be difficult due to lack of local access to health care. Many persons with mild illness do not seek health care. Travellers to areas where the dengue fever virus is active can reduce their risk of exposure by taking all necessary precautions to avoid mosquito bites.
