Cases, deaths and/or outbreaks due to dengue fever have been reported in the following countries:

India (Ahmedabad, Gujarat State)
Philippines (Zamboanga City, Mindanao)
Taiwan
Brazil (Ceará State; Niteroi, Rio de Janeiro City and Rio de Janeiro State; Mato Grosso do Sul State; Itabuna, Bahia State; Aripuana, Mato Grosso State; Ribeirao Preto, São Paulo State)
Paraguay

Dominican Republic

Cook Islands

Yemen (Hodeida governorate)

Travellers to these areas can reduce their risk of exposure to dengue fever virus by taking all necessary precautions to avoid mosquito bites. Many persons with dengue fever may not seek medical care and may not be reported to health authorities. There may be many more cases in the community that are not reported.
