Fuel shortage affects tourism in Tonga

Since early September, there has been an ongoing fuel shortage in the northern Tongan islands group of Vava’u. Tour operators and resorts have had to turn away tourists. Some have reported long lines and disturbances at fuel stations. A tanker is expected to arrive at some point between October 1 and 5 and ease the shortage situation.
