On 28 October, the Canadian embassy in Senegal issued a security alert due to high crime rates and weak state infrastructure in Guinea-Bissau.
Advice
The Embassy advised travellers to exercise caution and avoid non-essential travel to the area within 20 km of the border with Senegal, including the road from São Domingos in Guinea-Bissau to Mpack in Senegal.
