Intense heat wave moving across Spain, Portugal, France and England

An intense heat wave is moving across Europe, and the governments of Spain, Portugal, France and England have issued heat wave warnings. Paris has activated a national heatwave emergency plan.

Advice

Take steps to remain hydrated and drink at least three litres of water daily. Avoid alcohol. Try to stay out of the sun. Children, elderly, asthma sufferers or those with other breathing problems should take particular care.
