Malaria deaths increase in Namibia

Nine people have died from malaria in Ohangwena and Oshana Re gions, while almost 500 infected people have received treatment for their infections.

Travellers to any region where malaria transmission is occurring can reduce their risk of exposure by taking all necessary precautions to avoid mosquito bites. Anti-malaria medication is recommended.
