Purity First Health Products, Ltd, refuses to recall contaminated vitamins

Although 29 people have reported illness and one has been hospitalized after consuming vitamin tablets found to be contaminated with highly potent anabolic steroids (dimethazine and methasterone), the producer, Purity First Health Products, Inc, East Northport, New York, has refused requests by the US Food and Drug Administration to recall this product (Healthy Life Chemistry By Purity First B-50) from the market voluntarily. The vitamins are sold in retail outlets and over the Internet. Travellers should avoid purchasing this product and ask a pharmacist to dispose of any they might have in their possession.
