100 Homes Evacuated Due to Wildfires - UK

A 40-hectare wildfire which started in Chobham Common on Friday (7 August) continues to blaze and spread to Wentworth golf course. Around 100 homes have been evacuated. The severity of the fire was at level four, meaning “the risk of wildfires and rapid spread of fire can occur”.

Authorities are advising people to stay away from the Chobham Common. The local roads remain closed by Surrey Police. Parts of the UK could experience record overnight temperatures this weekend as the mini-heatwave continues.
