Malaria is a high risk in Angola

A total of 44,535 cases of malaria with 41 deaths have been reported in January and February in the Angolan province of Cabinda. Of these, more than 14,500 cases were in children less than 5 years old. Travellers to any region where malaria transmission is occurring can reduce their risk of exposure by taking all necessary precautions to avoid mosquito bites. Anti-malaria medication is recommended.
