On Wednesday, a bomb planted on a train killed two policemen and wounded 11 other people when it exploded at a station in the Menufiya province north of Cairo. Four people were killed and eight injured when train line number 858, leading to Menufiya province, crashed after a bomb explosion on Thursday night. Another small bomb exploded about an hour later in a Cairo metro station, wounding three people.
Small bomb attacks are becoming more frequent in Egypt. Recently a similar bomb exploded outside Cairo University, injuring 11. A series of explosions killed two policemen at the Ittihadiya presidential palace on 30 June.
