US Strikes Nuclear Facilities in Iran

On 21 June, US forces struck three nuclear sites, Natanz, Esfahan and Fordow, in Iran. Six bunker-buster bombs were dropped on Fordow, while 30 Tomahawk missiles were fired against other nuclear sites. This follows escalating tensions between Israel and Iran. The US involvement represents a major escalation in the conflict. Further strikes are likely.

Advice

Many countries advise their citizens to avoid all travel to Iran due to the dangerous safety and security situation.

Travellers in or near affected areas should seek shelter immediately, follow guidance from local authorities, and monitor reliable news sources for updates. Expect disruptions to transportation and possible restrictions on movement.
