On 14 January, the coronation of King Frederik will be held at Christiansborg Palace in Copenhagen. The Crown Prince will move along central Copenhagen streets and squares Frederiksgade, Bredgade, Kongens Nytorv, Holmens Kanal and Prins Jørgens Gård. and arrive at the palace by car at 13:35 hours (local time). Queen Margrethe will arrive from Amalienborg by carriage, escorted by the Guard Hussar Regiment’s horse squadron along the same route. At 15:00 hours, on the palace’s balcony, Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen will proclaim the change of leadership and King Frederik will give his speech. At 03:10 hours, the salute of honour will be fire from the gun battery Sixtus at nearby Holmen. The King will leave the palace by carriage at 03:30 hours. Traffic restrictions and temporary road closures will be in place around the venue. Severe traffic disruption is likely.
