Chad sends troops to help Central African Republic

Armed forces from Chad were sent to neighbouring Central African Republic (CAR) to help government troops halt the rapid advance by rebels in the north. The rebels killed 15 government soldiers during the capture of Bria, a town about 600 km northeast of the capital Bangui. Travellers should be aware that several countries advise their citizens to avoid all travel to the CAR at this time.
