Learn moreWeek old cholera epidemic kills 7 in Kunene region of Namibia
The cholera outbreak that began 1 week ago in the Kunene Region has resulted in a total of 7 deaths. During the past weekend the Opuwo State Hospital admitted 46 new cholera cases. The most affected area has been Etanga. Travellers to any area where cholera has been reported can reduce the risk of exposure to this infection by strictly observing all food and water precautions. If gastrointestinal symptoms (e.g., vomiting and profuse watery diarrhoea) develop while visiting the affected area, travellers should seek medical care at once.
