Credible threat of terrorist attack in Ethiopia

The U.S. Embassy in Addis Ababa has issued a travel warning that there are reports that al Shabaab are planning terrorist attacks in Ethiopia. Travellers are warned to avoid areas where westerners, as well as Ethiopians, frequent such as churches, bars and restaurants, hotels, etc., and especially the Bole area. Travellers should be highly vigilant about personal safety and security.
