Ongoing Curfew in Port Sudan-Sudan

At least three people were killed and 24 others wounded following clashes between two tribes in Port Sudan. As a result, Sudanese police imposed a nighttime curfew on 17 November following the incident. The curfew began at 17:00 local time and would remain until 05:00 local time on 18 November. However, it was also reported that there was no date for when the restrictions would be lifted.

Advice

Ethnic confrontations continue in Sudan. Travellers should be cautious and respect the curfew and any other restrictions imposed by security authorities. If possible, travellers may wish to postpone non-essential travel to this city.
