COVID-19 Precautionary Measures in Barbados (17 November Update)

Can a resident enter the country?

  • Yes

  • Residents and citizens are allowed to enter.

Can a foreigner enter the country?

  • Yes

  • Foreigners are allowed to enter.

Is a test required on arrival?

  • Yes

  • All arrivals will have their temperature checked and a brief interview by Port Health personnel.

  • Travellers from low-risk countries without a negative test result will need to take a COVID-19 PCR on arrival. Travellers from medium and high-risk countries who arrive without a negative test certificate may be denied entry.

Is a test certificate allowed?

  • Yes

  • A COVID-19 PCR certificate issued in another country is accepted.

  • Travellers will need to submit the test result online at here.

Test certificate required?

  • Yes

  • Travellers from high-risk and medium-risk countries must have a negative COVID-19 PCR certificate issued within 72 hours of arrival.

  • Travellers from low-risk countries who have not visited a high-risk country in the past 21 days prior to arrival are strongly advised to present a valid COVID-19 test certificate issued within five days prior to travel to Barbados.

  • Travellers from very low-risk countries who have not visited a high-risk or medium-risk or the low-risk country in the past 21 days prior to arrival will not be required to have a COVID-19 test prior to their arrival or on arrival in Barbados.

Is quarantine required on arrival?

  • Yes with exceptions

  • Travellers from high-risk and medium-risk countries will be subject to quarantine for 4 to 5 days at an approved facility upon arrival until they are retested (4 to 5 days from when they took their last negative test) at their own expense. If their test is negative, they can exit quarantine.

  • Travellers from low-risk and very low-risk countries will be allowed to leave after clearance by the immigration, customs, and port health officials.

  • All travellers are required to submit an online Immigration and Customs Form 24 hours prior to their arrival in Barbados. The form is available here.

  • High-Risk Countries: Argentina, Bahamas, Belize, Brazil, British Virgin Islands, Canada, Colombia, Cayman Islands, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Guyana, Germany, Ghana, Greece, Iceland, India, Haiti, Ireland, Italy, Jamaica, Japan, Mexico, Martinique, Norway, Netherlands, Panama, Peru, Philippines, Puerto Rico, Russia, Sri Lanka, Saudi Arabia, Spain, South Africa, Suriname, Sweden, Switzerland, Trinidad and Tobago, Turkey, Turks and Caicos Island, United Kingdom, United States, US Virgin Islands, Venezuela, and the United Arab Emirates.

  • Medium-Risk Countries: Antigua and Barbuda, Australia, Bermuda, New Zealand, and St Lucia.

  • Low-Risk Countries: Egypt, Greenland and St Vincent and the Grenadines.

  • Very Low-Risk Countries: Anguilla, China, Dominica, Grenada, Montserrat, and St Kitts and Nevis.

Curfew restrictions

  • Minimal

  • There are no curfews in place.

Social distancing restrictions

  • Minimal

  • People should maintain social distancing.

Internal travel restrictions

  • Minimal

  • No restrictions on interstate/intercity travel.

  • Buses and other public vehicles may carry full capacity of seated passengers and at half-capacity for standing passengers.
