Additional Information for Commemorative Rally on 17 November, Greece

In commemoration of the protests against the ruling junta in 1973, about 10,000 to 20,000 people are expected to demonstrate in Athens on Sunday 17 November beginning at 18:30 (local time). Road closures will begin at 15:00. Participants will gather at the Athens Polytechnic University and continue to Syntagma Square, the U.S. Embassy, and ending in Exarchia.

In Thessaloniki, the Polytechnic School of Aristotle University will hold a march to the Consulate General.

Avoid all areas of the protests in Athens and Thessaloniki. Do not cross police lines.
