Protests Across Panama

As of 14 May, protests in Panama against Law 462 have entered their fourth week, causing road blockages and clashes with police. In Viguí, Veraguas, the Inter-American Highway was blocked, while in Chiriquí and Panama City, tear gas was deployed, and multiple arrests occurred. Metro stations in the capital were temporarily closed.

Advice

To minimize safety risk, avoid areas of large public gatherings or protests. Even events intended to be peaceful can escalate unexpectedly and quickly become violent.
