Attack on NGO Compound in South Sudan

On 1 December, unidentified armed men broke into an NGO compound in Bunj town, Maban County, Upper Nile, and assaulted and robbed aid workers. The UNHCR has called for increased protection for aid workers.

There has been an increase in attacks on aid workers in the past few months. South Sudan is among the world’s most dangerous places to deliver aid. Many countries advise their citizens to avoid all travel to South Sudan due to the unstable and unpredictable safety and security situation.
