Bombings continue in Iraq

Three bomb blasts hit Baghdad and Madain, Iraq, on Friday, killing eight and injuring at least twelve people. In a series of bombings across Iraq on Saturday, at least 19 people were killed and dozens wounded in the following areas: the neighbourhood of Amil; a bus stop in southern Baghdad; an outdoor market in Mhamoudiya town; near a row of restaurants in the Shiite town of Balad Ruz.

Meanwhile Islamic State suicide bombers attacked the town of Baiji overnight with two suicide car bombings, followed by armed conflict.

Random bombings occur frequently in Iraq. In the northern and western parts of Iraq, ISIL militants continue carry out particularly gruesome violence in their fight for Iraqi territory.
