The Turrialba Volcano in Costa Rica registered four explosions on Thursday, March 12, 2015, spreading volcanic ash over San José. Emergency authorities ordered evacuations for a radius of about a mile around the volcano and the closure of access roads near the volcano. The area is a main attraction for tourists.
