Cholera in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic

Health authorities have hospitalized 18 people with cholera from neighborhoods in the capital city. While more cases are suspected, there have been 2 deaths reported. Nationwide, there have been 750 cases and 14 deaths. The spread of cholera in the Dominican Republic is related to the on-going large scale epidemic of cholera in neighboring Haiti.
