Cholera outbreak due to flooding in Ivory Coast

Severe flooding following heavy rains has affected almost 30,000 people in communities around the capital city. As a result, health authorities have identified 42 cases of cholera so far.

Traveller to this area should be aware that the heavy flooding has increased the risk of exposure to cholera and should take all necessary precautions to avoid consuming unsafe food and water.
