Civil Unrest in Lebanon

Anti-government protests have continued for a third day today (19 Oct). In some areas, protests have been peaceful, while in other locations, clashes with police, looting, vandalism, and violence have been reported. The protests erupted on 17 October against a social media tax and have evolved into protests against the political elite who are blamed for the current economic crisis. The protests cross sectarian and political party lines.
