Dangerous Snow Storm in Newfoundland, Canada

A major storm is affecting Newfoundland on Friday and Saturday, with the heaviest snowfall occurring on Friday. Blizzard conditions are in the forecast for today with winds in some areas expected to reach 140 km/h. Some areas may get as much as 75 centimeters (30 inches) of snow. In addition to blizzard conditions, Environment Canada has warned of storm surge, particularly for the Avalon Peninsula, Burin, Bonavista, Clarenville, and Gander. There could be 80-centimeter storm surges and 10-meter waves according to Environment Canada.
