Deadly bomb detonated at political rally in Peshawar, Pakistan

In Peshawar, an attack by a suicide bomber at an election rally for a party opposed to Pakistan's Taliban movement killed at least 9 people and wounded more than 50. The rally was sponsored by the Awami National Party (ANP) ahead of the May 11 general elections. Because of the lack of personal security and unpredictable terrorist attacks, several countries advise their citizens to avoid all travel in northern areas of Pakistan and to reconsider any travel to this country at this time and as national elections draw near.
