Asia

  • India (West Bengal, Kolkata and Salt Lake, and Maharashtra)
  • Sri Lanka
  • Philippines (Cagayan de Oro)

Latin America

  • Brazil (Para, Ceara, Maranhao [São Luis], and Mato Grosso do Sul [Campo Grande])
  • Peru (San Martin Region)
  • Colombia (Huila)
  • Honduras (Tegucigalpa, Cortes [San Pedro Sula, Choloma])
  • El Salvador
  • Mexico (Oaxaca [La Costa, Isthmus of Tehuantepec], Quintana Roo [Cancun], Veracruz [Oluta], Sinaloa, Tamaulipas)

Caribbean

  • Dominican Republic (Valverde [Esperanza])
  • Cuba (Camaguey)

Travellers to these areas can reduce their risk of exposure to dengue fever virus by taking all necessary precautions to avoid mosquito bites. Many persons with dengue fever may not seek medical care and may not be reported to health authorities. There may be many more cases in the community that are not reported.
