Dengue fever in USA and Mexico (update)

USA - the number of reported cases of dengue fever in southern Florida (Martin County) has increased to 15 cases. No deaths have been reported.
Mexico -

• Colima - 1,025 cases with 304 cases of dengue haemorrhagic fever. The most affected municipalities include Colima, Villa de Alvarez, and Armeria.
• Hidalgo - 210 cases with 12 cases of dengue haemorrhagic fever.
• Oaxaca - 1,145 cases with 414 cases of dengue haemorrhagic fever and 3 deaths.
• Tabasco - 3,654 cases with 746 cases of dengue haemorrhagic fever and 5 deaths.
• Tamaulipas - 3,310 cases with 591 cases of dengue haemorrhagic fever and 3 deaths. The most affected municipalities include Ciudad Victoria and Matamoros. There may be many more unreported cases of dengue since counting and reporting cases may be hampered by lack of local access to health care, and many persons with mild illness may not seek health care. Travellers to areas where the dengue fever virus is active can reduce their risk of exposure to dengue fever virus by taking all necessary precautions to avoid mosquito bites.
