E.coli outbreak closes restaurant in mall in Belfast, Northern Ireland

At least 42 people developed symptoms of serious E.coli infections after eating at Flicks restaurant at Cityside Mall on York Street in Belfast. The restaurant has closed voluntarily while an investigation continues to identify the exact food source for the infections. The E.coli strain involved may occasionally cause kidney failure, and travellers who may have eaten at this restaurant since September 24th and who develop gastrointestinal symptoms (diarrhoea and/or abdominal pain) should seek medical care.
