Extensive malaria in Bié, Angola

In the first 3 months of this year, a total of almost 44,000 cases of malaria have been diagnosed in Bié province. Of these, 268 people have died from their infections.

Malaria transmission occurs widely in Angola. All travellers to any region where malaria transmission is occurring can reduce their risk of exposure by taking all necessary precautions to avoid mosquito bites. Anti-malaria medication is recommended.
