Update: U.S. Embassy Issues Security Alert - Russia

On 22 March, the U.S. Embassy in Moscow issued a security alert for its citizens, urging them to avoid the Crocus City Hall area in Krasnogorsk due to an ongoing terrorist incident and to follow the instructions of local authorities. The alert further informed that due to limitations on embassy personnel and the suspension of operations at U.S. consulates in Russia, routine or emergency services for US citizens are severely constrained, especially in regions distant from the U.S. embassy in Moscow. At this time, U.S. citizens are advised not to travel to Russia.
