Surge of malaria cases in Chennai, India

In the last 2 weeks, there have been 105 cases of malaria reported in Chennai. Most of the cases were located in slum tenements in Thiruvanmiyur, George Town, Sowcarpet and Royapuram. Travellers to this region can reduce their risk of exposure to malaria by taking all necessary precautions to avoid mosquito bites. Anti-malaria medication is recommended.
