Heatwave in Japan

Japan’s meteorological agency have issued heat warnings across the country. Temperatures reached 40.7C (105F) in central Japan earlier this week and the high temperatures are expected until at least Thursday.

Travellers in Japan should seek air conditioned environments, stay hydrated and avoid strenuous physical activity during the hottest parts of the day. Monitor friends and family, especially the elderly and young for signs of heat exhaustion. Signs could include fatigue, dizziness, muscle cramps, weak and rapid pulse.
