Human cases of West Nile Fever and infected mosquitoes reported from various places in USA

The virus that causes WEst Nile Fever has been found in infected mosquitoes in the following places:

Texas (Dallas area); New York (Northport); Pennsylvania (Lebanon County)

Sporadic human cases of this disease now total 15 from 8 states: Arizona, California, Louisiana, Minnesota, Mississippi, Ohio, Oklahoma and Texas.

Travellers to areas where the West Nile virus has been found can reduce their risk of exposure to the West Nile Fever virus by taking all necessary precautions to avoid mosquito bites.
