Magnitude 6.4 earthquake hits southern Taiwan

A 6.4 magnitude earthquake hit southern Taiwan this morning (February 6) near the city of Tainan. Two deaths have been reported so far as well as extensive damage, including a 17-story building that collapsed.

Authorities have asked people to avoid the area. Emergency crews are trying to get to the area. There are power outages.
