Maine-based grocery chain Hannaford recalls an undisclosed amount of ground beef contaminated with salmonella

Scarborough, Maine-based grocery chain Hannaford has recalled an undisclosed amount of ground beef prepared in and purchased at Hannaford stores. The product was sold in stores in New Hampshire, Maine, Massachusetts, New York and Vermont and is suspected to be contaminated with Salmonella bacteria.

An outbreak of Salmonellosis has been linked to the consumption of this product. At least 14 cases with 7 hospitalizations have been reported.

Travellers who might have purchase this product to prepare their own meals should be aware that it may be contaminated with salmonella bacteria. The product should be discarded.
