Malaria in South Africa.

At least 46 cases of malaria have been reported in the western Waterberg district around Lephalale and Thabazimbi in the province of Limpopo. In addition, 3 deaths due to this infection were reported in Doornpoort, a suburb in the northern part of the City of Tshwane in Gauteng province.

Advice

All travellers to any region where malaria transmission is occurring can reduce their risk of exposure by taking all necessary precautions to avoid mosquito bites. Anti-malaria medication is recommended.
