Cases of chikungunya fever may be largely unreported in Mexico. Nationally, there are 751 reported cases from the states of Guerrero, Chiapas, Oaxaca, Colima, and Coahuila. However, there are reports that Guerrero alone may have as many as 5,000 suspected cases of this infection.
